The Silkroad UK is a specialist boutique flooring company based in Haslemere, Surrey, providing high quality flooring services. The Silkroad offers a supply and installation service directly employing their lead fitters. The Silkroad employs all of their fitters and pride themselves on delivering a unique and inclusive service to all interior projects, providing a consistency of quality and service both in our studio and in your home.
Our specialist team are on hand to advise, inspire and support which, in turn, ensures our clients make the most practical and suitable choices for all of their needs. We also offer out-of-hours private consultations to suit your own schedules, allowing our clients a bespoke one-to-one opportunity to fully understand about our products, and how they perform, which will help with final decision-making, and out of hours week night appointments, if required. The Silkroad offers a supply and installation service across London and the South East, focusing on elite flooring products such as Roger Oates stair runners, Oak flooring, luxury vinyl tiles, natural stone and carpets all chosen for their quality and performance.
Silkroad Story
The Silkroad was originally borne from our desire to seek out interesting, vibrant and luxurious floor coverings from all over the world, including silk carpets and handmade rugs. However, our requirement for superior quality, authenticity and provenance, on which The Silkroad is built, made this more and more difficult to find. Our attentions have now diverted closer to home, and wherever possible we now strive to source our ranges from the UK or Europe. This standard enables us to guarantee quality and helps us to control delivery schedules and lead times which in turn helps us to meet our clients expectations.

Alan Baker
Founder and Director of The Silkroad Interiors and Flooring, Alan has spent the last 40 years working within the flooring sector. Alan trained as an upholsterer working in his father’s business before setting up his own specialist flooring company. Alan’s vast experience both in the field and on the sales side enables him to offer superior and expertise on which he has built his business and reputation.
Amanda Baker
Director of The Silkroad Interiors and Flooring, Amanda has worked alongside Alan for over 17 years. With a secretarial background within the Marketing and PR sectors, Amanda’s administrative and organisational strengths have supported the business behind the scenes for many years. Amanda continues to work part-time overseeing all of the office and accounts management side of the business.
Amy
Amy brings her many years of customer service experience to her ‘front of house’ role at The Silkroad, as well as ensuring the smooth running of the administrative and accounts side of the business. As Alan’s daughter, she has grown up in the flooring world and is perfectly placed to maintain and nurture our strong and positive client relationships.
Matthew Feast
Specialist Flooring Fitter Matt joined the team as an apprentice direct from school in 2006 and has since built up a wealth of knowledge and experience in all aspects of floor fitting. His hands-on experience also enables him to offer specialist advice both in our showroom and also in your home.
